Millennium Bridge -

I'm not gonna lie, shots of city skylines at night are one of the most overdone kinds pictures on DeviantArt. Everyone and their brother does them. That's why it takes a special something to make them stand out. In my opinion, this picture has that special something.

First, let's talk about the environment itself. Usually, pictures like these are shot from the water. However, the beach at the bottom right of the picture provides context for the city and the water, like you're more a part of the setting.

Also, the colors are fantastic. The way they're slightly muted and bleeding down the picture, as it were, in the reflection is wonderful. It gives a very...... glamorous (not the word I was looking for, but close enough.) feel to the view of the city, like "Hey, the party's over there!"

While the initial concept was lacking in originality, I think the details of it more than make up for that to give you a successful picture.
