Just by the size of the thumbnail I got all excited, see I figured, you didn't tell me to check this I'd prolly comment on it and fav. THIS IS SOOOO beautiful. Very touching and innocent in a very soft way. The textures on teh tin box you captured very nicely, its like what Danny would do. YOU SKILLED PERSON YOU! Awww you CAN TELL HES BEEN TRYING TO GET IN with all the scratches and STUFF! I love the bright colors it really shows contrast to the cooki box as being blue and the white table. Iam loving the perspective and the reflection of the cookie and the lizard -- {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} You make the pins in my hear wiggle {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} thanks for the fav and the lovely comment ^_^ the thing is actually, the koala keeps himself from the outer world by sealing himself in the perfectly smooth box, which bears all scratches outside (i could've overdone with the scratches inside too if without this concept). only the gecko has the key to it. ^_^ and the gecko has his own tail growing back! the white background means nothing else matters -- do not click me don't even think of putting your mouse over me Fucking amazing, this is just simple and beautiful. The details
-- [ Angelworld 8 . Essence of Angels . Forum . Ecard . Store . Wireless ] i think i succeeded in making the 3d feeling ^_^ it was so in my mind, so hard to archieve tho, without any or little reference. I wanted to create that radiocity feeling

Critiques
The stylised lizard (assumably a gecko given the symbology that you have explained in the comments and replies) has a real sense of character and personality; something evident in all of your paintings that I've had the pleasure of looking at.
The Koala cookie is similarly drawn with a great deal of character, and feels like it has a sense of solidity thanks to your shading and the reflections.
More than anything else, I am drawn in by the story that you communicate with the scene. Without reading the comments and replies above, the cookie is given heightened importance by it's quality as the only cookie in a relatively large container.
There is a clear history between the lizard and the container or cookie, shown by the separated tail, which suggests that there is some motive other than eating the cookie (given that the lizard has already had the opportunity and not done so). It is unclear as to why the lizard is returning to the container (with a regrowing tail), and the sense of history makes for an enjoyable feeling of occasion.
The lack of claws on the lizard, and the damage to the outside of the container give a feeling of age to the scene, and I really do love the broken key. It adds to an already contextual piece, and is drawn subtly enough that it does not scream for attention or draw from the key subjects.
A neutral background clearly has symbolic meaning as you have mentioned above, and from a separate artistic perspective it allows the subjects to remain the key focus without having to compete against a busy backdrop.
The attention to detail suggests that a strong vision has been followed and realised, reinforced by the careful composition of the scene.
Skilfully painted and reminiscent of modern media rendering, this is an interesting piece that can be enjoyed on however many levels the viewer chooses to enjoy it on.
