I'll let the picture do the talking
I used to shoot jpgs too, as I have (and still do) limited disc space, and i thought shooting raw wasn't worth it. However after shooting in raw i managed to rescue so much more photos which would otherwise be in the bin or unusable, and the overall disc consumption wasn't as big as i thought! still it's much bigger than jpg, but well... i read that canon's jpg compression algorithm has quite a fair bit to be desired too. another good thing about raw (and using lightroom) is that you are NOT making up the pixels, they were all there just waiting for you to pick them up and use them. hell why am i talking, just look at the photos! oh speaking of which, it's *hougaard's stunning work motivated me to switch. but instead of my digital ND grad filters (which works really well almost up to -4 depending on how overexposed your sky is), he uses real ones. -- do not click me don't even think of putting your mouse over me Very impressive! I've been shooting in RAW for a while now but I don't think I have really made the most of it yet. Thank for posting this. It's given me a real boost to try something new.
